Getting Started

The app is available for free on both Android and iOS:

  • Android: Search “Krishikatha Canberra” on the Google Play Store, or visit our website and tap the Google Play button.
  • iPhone/iPad: Search “Krishikatha Canberra” on the Apple App Store, or visit our website and tap the App Store button.

The app is completely free — no subscription, no in-app purchases.

No account is required. Open the app and start exploring plant guides and tips immediately — no sign-up, no login, no personal information needed.

The app requires an internet connection to load content. Once content has been loaded, it may be partially available offline through caching, but for the best experience we recommend using the app with an internet connection.

The app is primarily in Bengali (বাংলা) as it is designed for Canberra's Bengali-speaking community. Most plant names also include their English names for reference. The content is specifically tailored for Bengali gardeners growing desi vegetables in Canberra.

Plants & Tips

Tap the গাছপালা (Plants) tab at the bottom of the app. You can:

  • Scroll through the full list of plants
  • Use the search bar to search by Bengali or English name
  • Filter by category (Indoor, Outdoor, Summer, Winter etc.)

Tap any plant to see its full growing guide including care instructions, watering, and harvesting tips.

The home screen shows plants that are recommended for the current Canberra season. This updates automatically based on the current month, so you always see the most relevant plants to grow right now.

Tap the টিপস (Tips) tab at the bottom of the app. Tips are organised by category. Tap any tip to read the full article. You can load more tips by tapping “আরও দেখুন” (Load More) at the bottom of the list.

Pull down on any screen to refresh the content — this pulls the latest information from our server. If you're still seeing old content, try closing and reopening the app.

Technical Issues

This is usually a network issue. Please check:

  • You have an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data)
  • Try toggling Airplane mode on and off
  • Close and reopen the app
  • If on mobile data, check that the app has permission to use mobile data in your phone settings

If the problem persists, our server may be temporarily down. Please try again later or contact us.

Plant images load from our server. If images are not showing:

  • Check your internet connection
  • Pull down to refresh the screen
  • If on a slow connection, images may take a few seconds to appear

If Bengali text appears as boxes or incorrect characters:

  • Android: Go to Settings → Language & Input — ensure Bengali is installed as a supported language
  • iOS: Bengali is supported natively on all modern iPhones
  • Make sure your device's operating system is up to date

Updates are available through the usual app store:

  • Android: Open Google Play Store → My Apps → Update Krishikatha Canberra
  • iOS: Open App Store → Updates → Update Krishikatha Canberra

We recommend keeping the app updated to get the latest plant guides and features.
